Holistic Skin Care With Naomi Scott

People often ask me about my skin, and I want to emphasize that the glow, health, and radiance of my skin come from a deeper place than just the products I use. I began to truly care for my skin in my mid-20s when I was introduced to Ayurveda. Since then, I've maintained my skin with clean, holistic products, which has been easy, effortless, and has consistently kept my skin glowing and healthy, even as I age.

In this post, I'm excited to share some of my favorite products. It's so important to use truly clean products, and I feel fortunate that the clean beauty space is now offering some amazing options. This post will be a blend of Ayurvedic techniques and the best products currently available in the West.

A couple of additional things I'd like to share: wherever you may experience redness, dryness, impurities, breakouts, or skin discoloration, this often indicates areas of inflammation or weakness in your body. I will include a face map to help you understand this better. This deeper understanding of my system has been incredibly supportive, allowing me to adjust and nourish those areas that need extra care.

Another key aspect of glowing skin is what we call in Ayurveda "ojas," or life essence. Ojas represents vitality-the juiciness of life. It manifests as contentment, love, the capacity to give and receive love, a full heart, positivity, patience, happiness, and overall health. Ojas is the end product of healthy digestion-not just physically, through the nutrients we absorb from our environment, food, drink, and skincare products, but also mentally and emotionally. It's cultivated by living in harmony with nature, spending time outdoors, consuming real organic food from healthy soil, exercising, and practicing meditation. For me, coaching or personal development work is also crucial, as it teaches us how to digest life experiences, emotions, and traumas in a healthy way.

This allows us to maintain a clean, clear system-physically, psychologically, emotionally, and energetically. When someone is deeply connected to themselves and has processed their life in a healthy way, it shows in the clarity and radiance of their skin. These are all things that I support my clients to do and cultivate in my programs.

My Holistic Skin Care

That said, my work with Ayurveda taught me to cleanse the skin gently. I cleanse, tone, apply serums and peptide, and at this point in my life, I also use a natural retinol. I follow this with a nourishing cream, a good eye cream, and then an oil on top. I do this both in the morning and before bed. I also exfoliate every couple of days with a fantastic product from Goop that has been transformative for many people. Additionally, I always wear sunscreen, and my favorite is from Ilia—it's great! Of course, you can do masks, mud treatments, and other things, but these are the foundational products I use every day and night. I also use organic cotton muslin cloths to wash my face, a gua sha sometimes, and occasionally, an Ayurvedic facial massager.

When it comes to body care, I use silk gloves and oil, and sometimes a fascial massager as well. I'll share another post detailing my body care routine, but this one is focused on face and neck skincare.

Teaching my clients this awareness and introducing them to these products have transformed their life long skin issues and that is just so wonderful!

I hope you enjoy! Let me know if you have any questions or want to share something that works well for you!
